Extended product range

As of 1.1.2009, our waterproofing range includes a selection of traditional plasticized polyvinyl chloride (PVC-P) waterbars. These additions are not, however, intended to supersede the familiar injection systems, which for decades have enjoyed a strong position in the market. The new waterbars simply serve to complete our product portfolio, thereby allowing us to offer our clients a full complement of options for all standard waterproofing mechanisms.

Wynn Casino car park building, Macau, China

The sumptuous, already fully operational Wynn Casino in Macau is to be provided with an additional multi-storey car park. Located behind the casino, some 200 m from the sea, the new facility is to be constructed using the top-down method. With quality the number-one priority, the client attaches particular importance to the implementation of a reliable waterproofing solution. This will be delivered and the car park building safely protected against water infiltration by our RASCOtec injection channels.

Water tower renovation

Injections to cracks and joints in “Ballycollin” water tower, Dublin, Ireland Since the topography of the Dublin region is very flat, most water supplies are ensured through the use of such water towers. The conical shape and large storage capacity mean that the diameter at the top expands by 155 mm when the tank is filled. This puts enormous stress on the concrete construction and cracks are therefore no surprise. Using a mobile working platform, the leaky cracks and joints were sealed from the outside at a height of 20 metres using RASCOflex injections. The success of this sealing solution was immediately visible, as the problem areas stopped leaking water straight away, allowing wet sections to dry out quickly. Occasional gusts of wind complicated the work to the extent that work had to be interrupted to avoid endangering the safety of the injection specialists.

Hydro 07 Symposium

The annual hydroelectric power plant symposium was held in beautiful Andalusian Granada this year. The delegates came from all over the world, whereas the visitors from Spain dominated. It turned out to be a good reason for also having the spanish representation at the stand. (Photo from l. to r. Ruben Schmid, Exabier Hormaza, Ainara Zabala, Rainer). Good contacts, not only to the delegates, but also to the exhibitors already showed us at the end of the symposium, that the participation was a gain.

New branch serving Basel area

Rascor starts with a new branch in Sissach on 1.4.2007. As an out-and-out expert in the waterproofing trade, the newly appointed branch manager Dieter Sägesser, can draw on both an intimate knowledge of Rascor's products and systems and a wide network of contacts in the Basel region. We naturally wish Dieter a triumphant launch and every success for the future.

RASCOR speeds up ground slab casting

A RASCOR "White Tank" waterproof concrete basement system was adopted for the new-build retail centre of trading company Landi in Dotzigen. Time constraints necessitated concreting of the approx. 7,500m² ground slab in only four pours. The problem was solved by the use of RASCOtec crack-inducing units. These served to "divide up" the almost 2,000 m² bays into sections of around 300 m², thereby eliminating the risk of random cracking.

Sponsorship of New Year show jumping event

This year's New Year celebrations in Dielsdorf (Canton of Zurich, Switzerland) once again featured a show jumping event, organized by the local equestrian association. The competition was well attended by a field of several hundred horse-and-rider teams. The course turned out to be anything but easy, and the spectators had to wait for the twentieth contestant to see the first fault-free ride. The second-round jump-off, with horses and riders battling against the clock, offered a thrilling climax!

Moving forward step by step

After securing a foothold in German-speaking Switzerland, through its sites in Jegenstorf and Cham, Rascor Abdichtungen AG took a further step towards securing its future success with the opening of a new branch in Denges on 1 November 2006.
Denges lies in the Swiss Canton of Vaud, to the west of Lausanne and in the immediate vicinity of the Geneva-Lausanne motorway. The central location is ideal for serving the whole of western Switzerland.

International Symposium - Water Resources and Renewable Energy Development in Asia

From November 30th until December 1st 2006  the first conference about hydroelectric power plants was held, where RASCOR had a small booth. The approximately 30 exhibitiors offered an interesting platform for about 500 visitors, to inform themselves beside the conference about hydroelectric power construction and operation. Waterproofing is a central and important subject, here too. These 2 days have proven to be a great success.
